ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Elden

Graves

Elden T. Graves is a resilient author and devoted husband and father who transformed his life during the challenges of the 2020 pandemic. Confined at home, he discovered he could rely on family much more than the waking world. It was possible to enjoy family rather than enjoying things with family. As a married father of 22 years and a daughter in college, Elden navigated the complexities of marriage, work, and raising a family. His experiences in conjunction with his love of reading, inspired him to write “The Thirst That Remains,” where he dares to touch on a subject many avoid. Through the story, Elden shares his take on evil and good. The differences that invoke malice and the similarities that inspire empathy. The collision is inevitable, and it is Elden’s pleasure to show how. Elden was born in New York and currently lives with his wife and daughter in the Pacific Southwest.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Write from a place of truth. Don’t chase trends—write the story only you can tell. Be patient with yourself, trust the process, and remember that even a few words written each day will add up to something meaningful over time.
I’m developing my next novel, which continues to explore the themes of resilience, morality, and human connection. It’s a story that asks tough questions about choice, consequence, and redemption—threads I believe readers will find both challenging and deeply rewarding.
Much of my inspiration comes from my own life—my family, my faith, and the challenges we’ve faced together. I also find inspiration in books, conversations, and even in quiet reflection. Often, the spark comes when I least expect it, and I’ve learned to pay attention to those moments.
The Thirst That Remains was born during the isolation of the 2020 pandemic. As I reflected on the importance of family, love, and resilience, I began to see how these themes mirror the larger struggle between good and evil in our world. That realization became the foundation for the story, weaving together personal truth with universal themes.
